Itinerary

Day 1: This mini expedition explores all of the major spots around the Kekova region. Setting off from Ucagiz we paddle eastwards past Simena castle to break and climb the ramparts at Burc. We continue to Gokkaya bay to explore secluded coves, sea caves and ruined islands. We camp on a terraced olive grove and have a minimum of 2 hours kayak training, including open water and self rescues.

Day 2: Break the camp and paddle around the Southern shore of Kekova Island exploring ‘Karaoz’ bay, sea cave and on to the ruins on Kara Ada at the opening to Kekova Bay. We continue our journey West to set up a camp near the jetty and the ruins of Aperlae.

Day 3: A short walk across the isthmus takes us to the ruins of the ancient port of Aperlae, we can explore the fortifications and swim amongst the tombs over the sunken port. Then we break the camp and paddle eastwards to the fresh water spring at Degirmen and on to the idyllic cove of Tersane on Kekova Island. From here we paddle over Kekova’s sunken city and break for lunch at the picturesque village of Simena. We finally return to Ucagiz and transfer to Kas.
